Financial Literacy Very Key Amidst Changing Trends In Basic Education

Dear Readers,

While I taught in primary and Junior High School levels, I realized that an in-depth information on financial literacy was totally absent from pupils and students educational curriculum, textbooks and supplementary reading materials.

We are living in an age where adequate knowledge about money, finance, economics, banking is key to the growth of our currently entrepreneurial society.

Medics, engineers,architects,pilots,
language scholars and many more require enough information on investment, savings, insurance - especially life insurance as well as accounting to enjoy a comfortable life.

"Train up the child the way he should go and when he is old he would not depart from it", is a scripture we often hear in our ears.

Have you ever pondered over the fact that when our young ones are well informed and taught about financial literacy well tailored for the level they would hardly err or make unnecessary mistakes in their future decision making. They would be very wise in making good use of every opportunity that come their way in our present society.
