Caring For One Another- The Role Of The Church

Dear Readers,
CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER-The Role Of Ghana's Churches
It was a big surprise to me when I was given an answer that a very big orthodox church we have in Ghana has no prayer line you could call to request for prayers 24/7 in a week.Do we really care for one another as Ghanaians as far as the church is concerned?
Life we all know is not just about what we eat or wear, the nature of the work we do or where we live in this country.Sometimes it is about who cares for you, who would visit you to hold your hands and pray with you- who cares for you.
It may interest us to learn that in the advanced countries there are lots of toll free numbers where you could call by day or night for prayers, words of encouragement or sometimes for other forms of assistance. To digress a little I feel mesmerized that over here in Ghana you could call the police about an arm robbery case and little concern is shown. What if over 20 persons are being murdered in cold blood? Would there be any effort shown to intervene in a timely way to offer them help or rescue?
In the advanced countries churches and pastors do chase after the people in their communities to offer them help but in Africa the situation is a complete antithesis- opposite.I mean prayer assistance especially.Give your number to a church in the advanced countries and they would always call you to find out your prayer needs to pray with you. They would even come to your address. This can help business men and women to prosper mightily as the Spirit of God would be there to lead them in answer to the prayers. Not to talk about liberty from sudden attacks of ailments and demons.
Life spun is high in these countries because there is always someone to show concern. Is the church here going to take a cue?
Yours faithfully,
Signed
